Hussain Sajwani, a United Arab Emirates national is the chairman and founder of an international property development company known as DAMAC Properties. He graduated from the renowned University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and economics. Sajwani kicked off his career as a contracts manager in GASCO, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. After working for two years, Hussain Sajwani launched an enterprise that offered catering services to army camps, construction campsites, and educational institutions.

In the mid-90s, Hussain Sajwani constructed several hotel buildings to accommodate foreigners who moved to the UAE for business purposes. This investment put him among the top pioneers in the institution of the property market in Dubai. After Dubai allowed foreigners to own property in 2001, Sajwani recognized the market opportunity and thus he Established DAMAC Properties in 2002. Thanks to his expertise in marketing, sales administration, and legal finance, the company has since grown immensely and ranks top among the most significant property development companies in the Middle East.

It has delivered over 21, 700 homes with a portfolio of about 44 000 units. Hussain Sajwani’s Philanthropies
In 2013, Hussain Sajwani handed a two million AED cheque to a government-supported campaign whose goal is to provide clothing to a million disadvantaged children around the globe. This Ramadan initiative was launched by the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE namely Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sajwani’s cheque was estimated to provide 50, 000 children with clothing.
